ArmInfo. From the outset of the present conflict and continuing to this day, all services assigned to the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem under the established Status Quo of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher have proceeded without interruption, as noted in a statement issued by the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem.
"The Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem addresses the faithful and the public to provide clear information regarding recent false rumors circulating online about the closure of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, the Tomb of Christ, as well as rumors pertaining to Divine Liturgies, processions, and other sacred rites within the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. From the outset of the present conflict and continuing to this day, all services assigned to the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem under the established Status Quo of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher have proceeded without interruption. The sole exceptions are those particular rites to the Lenten season that have been conducted with a select few monks without solemnity due to the ongoing war. The duration of the current security situation remains uncertain, and it is not yet possible to determine the precise arrangements for the observances of Holy Week.
The Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem is engaged in ongoing communication with the other two Guardians of the Holy Sepulcher, as well as with relevant governmental authorities. As soon as definitive schedules are decided upon, the Patriarchate will promptly communicate the schedule for Holy Week observances to the faithful and the public. In these trying circumstances that afflict the Holy Land, the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem prays for peace and tranquility to prevail. The Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem is the longest-continuous Christian presence in the Holy Land and will continue to faithfully carry out its sacred mission, which appears and proceeds uninterruptedly from the 4th century till the present day," the statement reads.
Earlier, several media outlets reported that missile debris from an Iranian attack landed just feet from the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. However, it was emphasized that there were no casualties or serious damage.
