ArmInfo. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan echoed the sentiments of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, assuring that there is no blackmail on the part of the Armenian authorities and that if the ruling Civil Contract party is not re-elected, a new war in the region should be expected.
"I believe that the prime minister mentioned the provisional deadline of September when he spoke of war-he meant that war would occur very shortly after the parliamentary elections. And that such a prospect exists is certain," Mirzoyan stated in a conversation with journalists.
According to the head of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, the opposition's ideology consists of territorial claims against its neighbors. He reiterated that there is no blackmail in the current Armenian authorities' statements, and that this is simply their political agenda. Regarding the realization of the Artsakh people's right to return to their homes, Mirzoyan stated that he is also concerned about how the Artsakh people themselves see this in the current reality, when it is unrealistic.
Regarding the issue of Armenians held captive by Azerbaijan, the Armenian Foreign Minister noted that this issue remains a focus of their attention, and there is essentially nothing to say, since the Armenian authorities prefer to demonstrate results through actions rather than words. "If there is any progress on this issue, you will know about it," he said.
