ArmInfo. Armenia sent humanitarian aid in the form of medicine to Iran. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated this in the Armenian parliament when asked by a member of parliament whether Armenia had sent humanitarian aid to Iran, especially given the statement by the Iranian Embassy in Yerevan.
"Armenia sent humanitarian aid to Iran, primarily medicine. We did not publicize this because we did not see the need for it," he said at a meeting of the Foreign Relations Committee, presenting the 2025 activity report.
As a reminder, on the morning of February 28, the United States and Israel attacked Iran. In retaliation, Iran launched strikes against American bases in the Middle East. As a result of the American-Israeli aggression, Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and several high-ranking Iranian military officials were killed. On March 8, Iran's Council of Experts elected Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of the late Ayatollah Ali Seyed Khamenei, as the new Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran. On March 17, the Iranian Embassy in Armenia announced its readiness to accept humanitarian aid from Yerevan in the form of medicines and medical equipment, given the strain on the country's medical facilities amid the high number of casualties resulting from the aggression.
