ArmInfo. After receiving information from the Foreign Intelligence Service regarding external pressure on voters, police officers conducted verification work, which resulted in some factual data. RA Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan announced this to journalists on March 20.
Earlier, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the Foreign Intelligence Service's data regarding external pressure on Armenian voters had been received by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and a report compiled on this basis had been forwarded to the Investigative Committee. According to the Foreign Intelligence Service, "in a certain country (the name is not specified), various individuals, acting on behalf of the special services, are attempting to exert pressure on Armenian entrepreneurs and citizens of Armenia, encouraging them to support certain political forces participating in the parliamentary elections." In this regard, the Minister noted that if one analyzes the Investigative Committee's statement, the section regarding the Ministry of Internal Affairs' report on the crime reveals that the Investigative Committee's statement provides some clarifications regarding the activities of parties in Armenia's political arena, their representatives, and other actors. The Minister emphasized that she is currently unable to provide information regarding the country in which the aforementioned events took place. "I ask that you monitor the Investigative Committee's reports to gain a clearer understanding of this matter," Arpine Sargsyan noted, adding that any information received from outside the country will be the focus of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' attention.
