ArmInfo. Certain circles claim they are not opposed to peace, but if they come to power, they intend to revise the peace agenda, which risks war - with the risk of losing not only territory but also sovereignty, as stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a briefing on March 19.
He noted that some representatives of these forces, in his opinion, do not fully understand the content of the statements they make. According to the prime minister, some of the texts they read out "were obviously written elsewhere," and they themselves are merely acting as their mouthpieces. "And such people certainly shouldn't be granted any official status in Armenia," the prime minister said. He also promised to address this issue in more detail in a live broadcast on his social media page. Pashinyan emphasized that "revising the world" equals "inevitable war." According to his estimates, this could happen soon after the elections-by the fall at the latest- immediately after the elections. Based on an analysis of these texts, the prime minister stated that these political forces are preparing a new September war with grave consequences. He called them emissaries, seeking to prevent Armenia from achieving independence and to turn it into a province, as it was during their rule.
When asked further, "Why does the opposition want war?" the prime minister noted that this would make these forces leaders of an outpost, not a state, which would be financially beneficial for them, as it would allow them to preserve their assets abroad. According to Pashinyan, these political forces are here "by order"; otherwise, they would lose their financial resources. "The three main forces that advocate this position have billions in Russia and Belarus," he noted.
It's worth noting that following Nikol Pashinyan's accusations, the "Strong Armenia" party issued a statement. Specifically, Marianna Kagramanyan, press secretary for the "In Our Way" movement and the "Strong Armenia" party, wrote: "Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is in panic, and he has every reason to be, since he will lose his position following the parliamentary elections on June 7."
