ArmInfo. In the town of Nor Hachn in Armenia's Kotayk Province, the sister of a deceased Artsakh serviceman, a mother of five, was detained and taken to the Dilijan Investigative Department. The arrest took place late in the evening in front of her children, three of whom were minors. Artsakh lawyer Roman Yeritsyan reported this live on his Facebook page.
He stated that the reason for the arrest was the woman's call for "violence against Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan" in the comments under a Facebook post. "The woman was taken to the investigative department along with one of her children due to his age. Moreover, this all happened late at night. I want everyone to understand the repression people face in Armenia for their political views or statements, and the people of Artsakh are especially vulnerable in this regard," the lawyer stated, calling the situation absurd.
After midnight, Gegham Manukyan, a member of the National Assembly of Armenia from the opposition "Armenia" faction, announced that the mother of the minors had already returned home, but that she would be required to appear for questioning at the investigative department today, March 18. It should be noted that the Investigative Committee of Armenia has not yet commented on the situation. The Ombudsman of Armenia has not yet issued an assessment.
