


ArmInfo. Negotiations are underway with the Hungarian airline WizzAir regarding the possible resumption of direct Yerevan-Sofia flights, as stated by David Khudatyan, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, during a meeting with Bulgarian Ambassador to Armenia Nikola Nikolov.
In this regard, the Bulgarian diplomat pointed out the importance of resuming direct flights between Yerevan and Sofia and emphasized his commitment to promoting tourism and economic ties between the two countries.
Recall, in April 2023, WizzAir launched a direct flight connecting the Armenian and Bulgarian capitals. Regular flights were operated on Airbus A321neo aircraft. In October 2025, the route was closed and removed from the airline's network. According to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, 7,531 tourists from Bulgaria visited Armenia in 2025, a 3.2% increase compared to the previous year.
