


ArmInfo.Robert Abisoghomonyan, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia, received members of the UN Working Group on Discrimination against Women and Girls, who are in on a monitoring visit in Yerevan. presented women's rights policies and priorities in Armenia, and touched on initiatives and steps aimed at ensuring gender equality and eliminating discrimination against women and girls.
The Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia emphasized that gender policy implementation in the country is institutionalized at the national, regional, and community levels. It was emphasized that state policy aims to enhance the role of women in various spheres of life and increase their representation, including at the decision-making level. Referring to the implementation of the Republic of Armenia's third Action Plan, "Women, Peace, Security," the Armenian diplomat emphasized that he is taking into account regional developments and prioritizing initiatives focused on strengthening peace.
Abisoghomonyan also noted that Armenia has improved cooperation with international monitoring bodies, by implementing a national human rights accountability mechanism, making the process more systematic, open, and transparent.
