ArmInfo. A strong opposition is the foundation for forming a solid government in Armenia. Vahe Hovhannisyan, co-founder of the Alternative Projects Group, writes about this in his article.
"It can be noted that the developments made within the framework of the 'Armenia Proposal' project and the most important programmatic provisions of this document have begun to be actively used by other political forces and their representatives. Thus, this project has begun to widely penetrate public life," the political scientist noted.
Vahe Hovhannisyan noted that the concept of guaranteed peace seems to be becoming a unifying principle among the healthy forces. The idea of internal solidarity is also being put forward as a priority, which testifies to the potential for cooperation and the real possibility of consolidating the healthy forces. "The 'Armenia Proposals' team's new developments, covering various areas, will be published soon. This document is not a one-month or one-election project. It is a concept for recovery after the collapse of the national state, with comprehensive approaches to Armenia's post-war reconstruction. This is precisely why it is so interesting to me. We attach great importance to inter-election dialogue and other competent steps aimed at changing the public atmosphere. This is a very important, possibly turning point in Armenia's pre- election campaign. I hope this will also become a common theme. It is also crucial not to wait for an Armenian 'Moldovan scenario', but to anticipate possible developments and have action steps ready. But even more important is not to indulge in positive calculations regarding possible government repression against one or another party. The goal for all of us must be the formation of a new, strong government through smooth constitutional procedures. And during this period, it is crucial to rid ourselves of Armenian egocentrism," the political scientist emphasized.
He added that no single person, no single force, no single party can single-handedly lead the country out of this situation. A strong government, first and foremost, means a genuine capacity for cooperation, coexistence, and collaboration. It also means a serious election campaign.
"The behavior of opposition forces toward each other during the pre-election period sends a signal to voters. This behavior tells voters: these forces are capable of forming a strong, reliable government in the future, and these forces can be trusted with their votes. At this stage, building public trust in the opposition forces is crucial. The public must see serious, competent teams that don't destroy each other for their own narrow interests, but rather unite their forces to ultimately form a new, reliable government," Vahe Hovhannisyan concluded.
