ArmInfo. Three supporters of Samvel Karapetyan, the "Strong Armenia" party leader, were taken to the police station of the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
As reported to ArmInfo by the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs, they were detained under Article 182 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Republic of Armenia (failure to obey a lawful order of a police officer - ed.).
Recall, the protest is taking place against the backdrop of the Anti-Corruption Court of Armenia considering a preventive measure for Russian-Armenian businessman Samvel Karapetyan. In an interview with journalists, lawyer Aram Vardevanyan stated that the motion concerns the extension of house arrest as a preventive measure. According to the lawyer, this is a direct interference in the country's political processes.
It should be added that on January 17, 2026, Karapetyan's pretrial detention was changed from imprisonment to house arrest with the use of a bail and a ban on leaving.
