ArmInfo. There is no doubt that the main goal of the US and Israeli war against Iran was to plunge the country into internal chaos and, ultimately, to form a puppet government, even if it would lead to Iran's disintegration, as noted by Iranologist Vardan Voskanyan on his Facebook page.
According to him, the calculated hope was that serious external attacks would collapse state structures and trigger a "popular uprising." Meanwhile, Western media outlets publishing opinions from within Iran are increasingly reporting significant popular mobilization around the state. "There are many reasons for this, but, in my opinion, a crucial factor is that Iranian nationalism has long been closely intertwined with Shiite ideology, and one of the latest proofs of this was the content of yesterday's message from the new spiritual leader of Iran, which can be described as nationalist-Shiite. Another important factor in consolidation is the periodic threats from the US and Israel to "destroy Iran," "the impossibility of Iran maintaining its current position," etc. Such statements, which do not refer to the country's authorities, but to Iran as a whole, automatically lead to national unity. The opinion that the authorities are fighting not for their own throne, but for the very viability of Iran as a state and a nation, especially when such a struggle is waged in real conditions, is beginning to prevail in society," the Iranologist noted.
