


ArmInfo.At its meeting on March 12, the Council of Elders approved the project for the installation of a monument to the leader of the French Resistance movement, Missak Manouchian, in Yerevan. As Mayor Tigran Avinyan noted during the meeting, the bust will be installed in the capital's eponymous square.
A year earlier, on March 11, 2025, ArmInfo, citing the press service of the Mayor's Office, reported that the results of the competition for the creation of the monument, announced in November 2024, had been announced. Ten sculptors participated in the competition. The total cost of the competition was 3 million drams. It was previously reported that the foundation stone for the monument was planned for 2025.
Recall, Missak Manouchian was a leader of the French resistance movement against the Nazis during World War II.
