


ArmInfo. During his working visit to Santiago, RA President Vahagn Khachaturyan met with Chilean President-elect Jose Antonio Cast.
The Chilean President welcomed the Armenian President and thanked him for accepting the invitation.
"Chile has experienced radical changes in recent decades, but we maintain institutional and friendly relations with our partners and are interested in strengthening relations with Armenia and new initiatives in areas of mutual interest," said Jose Antonio Cast.
Vahagn Khachaturyan, in turn, congratulated Cast on his election as president and noted that Armenia is interested in deepening cooperation with Chile and South American countries. Yerevan has been taking active steps in this direction in recent years. During the meeting, the general situation and developments in the South Caucasus region were discussed, with the Armenian President providing his counterpart with detailed information on current developments.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on new areas of cooperation. In this context, they particularly emphasized the great potential for cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence and information technology and the importance of fully realizing it, which could become a new and effective platform for both countries.
At the end of the meeting, Vahagn Khachaturyan invited the Chilean President to visit Armenia.
