
ArmInfo.In Armenia, the number of criminal cases against minorshas increased in 2025, the press service of the Investigative Committee reports.
According to source, during the reporting period, the Investigative Committee investigated 1,529 criminal cases against minors in 2025 (1,374 in 2024), of which 483 were carried over from 2024.
Out of 1,529 criminal cases, 135 were sent to court with charges against 145 individuals (in 2024 - 115 cases against 128 people), one case was concluded and submitted to court (in 2024 - 2), 670 cases were terminated (in 2024 - 558), of which 572 were terminated through rehabilitation (in 2024 - 479), and 98 through non-rehabilitation (in 2024 - 79), 72 cases were consolidated (in 2024 - 59), 28 cases were transferred to another agency. In 2024, 20 criminal cases were registered, procedural and evidentiary actions were completed for 78 cases (in 2024 - 178), and 545 criminal cases were postponed to 2026 (2024 - 442).
Out of 132 cases referred to court, 4 were investigated for murder, 1 for the murder of a child by the mother, 7 for causing serious bodily harm, 2 for causing moderate bodily harm, 3 for causing minor bodily harm, 5 for kidnapping, 2 for psychological violence, 23 for physical violence, 35 for sexual violence, 1 for inciting a minor to commit a crime or involving him in it, 1 for inciting or involving a child in committing actions related to the production or distribution of pornography or pornographic materials or objects, 1 for involving a child in committing antisocial acts, 1 for obstructing visits between between a parent or other close relative and a child, 2 for failure to fulfill or improper fulfillment of obligations to raise or care for a child, 8 for failure to pay child support, and 32 for other crimes.
Out of the 157 victims whose cases were brought to court, 49 were below 12 years old, 47 were aged 13- 14, 42 were 15-16, and 19 were 17-18
