ArmInfo.Russia has not received any requests from Iran for assistance, including weaponry, as stated by Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov.
"In this case, there have been no requests from Iran. Our consistent position is well known. There are no changes here," the Kremlin spokesman responded to a question about whether Moscow plans to assist Tehran, for instance, with weapons, RIA Novosti reports.
On March 2, Georgy Asatryan, Deputy Director of the Institute of World Military Economy and Strategy (IMWES) at the Higher School of Economics, told Lenta.ru that the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement (CSP), which Russia signed with Iran in January 2025, does not legally obligate Moscow to intervene in Tehran's conflict with the United States and Israel.
The researcher also emphasized that Russia has no direct military obligations to Iran. However, in the event of an armed conflict with a third party, intelligence sharing and diplomatic support are permitted through various channels.
