ArmInfo. The main rival of Armenia's ruling Civil Contract party in the upcoming parliamentary elections on June 7 will be a political force created by a Russian businessman (Samvel Karapetyan - ed.). Hayk Konjoryan, leader of the Civil Contract faction in the National Assembly, expressed this conviction when speaking to reporters on March 4.
In his opinion, the bloc of Robert Kocharyan, second president of Armenia, is in a "disarray". According to all available polls, this bloc is unlikely to cross the threshold and enter the country's parliament. As for the Republican Party, led by third President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, Konjoryan noted that it is unlikely to garner even 1% of the vote. This is precisely why RPA representatives are raising the issue of street fighting, as they themselves understand the situation and, fearing embarrassment, have decided to take this step.
Regarding the Civil Contract party, the parliamentarian emphasized that its rating is several times higher than that of its closest rivals. Konjoryan supported his confidence with data from a recent sociological survey, the results of which will be published soon. The MP assured that the country's ruling party is constantly in touch with the people, as evidenced by the frequent trips of the Prime Minister, MPs, and government officials to the country's regions and meetings with local residents.
