ArmInfo.Yerevan, with the support of Tbilisi, is striving to strengthen trilateral regional cooperation between Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made this statement at the 15th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Armenia and Georgia on March 4.
"I think this is also an area that has great potential, and I hope that we will see certain developments in this regard in the near future," he added, as reported by the press service of the Armenian Cabinet of Ministers.
According to Pashinyan, Yerevan today "sees and feels Georgia's support in developing bilateral trade and economic ties between Armenia and Azerbaijan." "Furthermore, since independence, not a single train has passed from Azerbaijan to Armenia, but now trains travel through Azerbaijan and Georgia to Armenia. And we hope that in the near future, exports from Armenia will also be carried out by rail. Of course, your support is invaluable in this matter," he said.
According to the Prime Minister, the parties must pay more attention to the enormous opportunities opening up for the region. "Of course, the international situation is currently very complex, and the regional situation is also very complex. We hope and are confident that regional perception is very important strategically, and we must build our strategies, each with its own agenda, but, obviously, a regional perception of opportunities, challenges, and risks is very important," the head of the Armenian Cabinet said.
Nikol Pashinyan expressed confidence that peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan improves the atmosphere in the region. The Prime Minister expressed hope that Georgia will also be able to reach a settlement. "As before, we now unconditionally and unequivocally support the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and political independence of Georgia," Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasized.
