ArmInfo. As a result of the investigation conducted by the Investigative Committee jointly with the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs, it was established that A.T., vice president of the military-patriotic organization "Next to the Soldier," in agreement with a driver-technician from a military unit of the RA Ministry of Defense, under the guise of the "My Step" charitable foundation, informed several individuals with military disabilities of the possibility of receiving assistance in the amount of 39-42 million drams, demanding an advance payment of 10% of the stated amount.
According to the Investigative Committee's press service, under this pretext, A.T. and T.Kh. demanded and received an especially large sum of 3.8 million drams from M.Kh., who lost his arm in the 44-day war of 2020, and fraudulently appropriated it on December 20, 2025.
Furthermore, members of the criminal group also attempted to embezzle money from R.G. and A.A., who were wounded during the 44-day war, but were unable to carry out the crime due to circumstances beyond their control, as the latter refused to transfer the money.
During the preliminary investigation, numerous investigative and procedural actions were conducted, including simultaneous searches at approximately a dozen addresses.
A.T. and T.Kh. were charged under Article 44-255, Part 3, Clause 3 of the Criminal Code (attempted fraud on an especially large scale). One of them was placed under arrest, and the other was placed under house arrest.
The investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the incident, the full range of victims, and the identities of the other individuals who entered into a criminal conspiracy with A.T. and T.Kh.
