Aram I calls for an end to hostilities in  Middle East

ArmInfo. In recent days, the war unleashed by the United States and Israel against the Islamic  Republic of Iran has effectively engulfed the entire Middle East. The war has brought death, destruction, panic, uncertainty, and social unrest to the region, as noted in a statement issued by the Great House of Cilicia.

It is also emphasized that, naturally, the Armenian communities  settled in Middle Eastern countries have also suffered, to varying  degrees, from the consequences of the war. "His Holiness Aram I is  following the development of the dangerous situation with deep  concern and is in constant contact with our communities in the  countries of the region. Due to the disruption of communications, it  is not possible to establish contact with our dioceses in the Iranian  region.

On behalf of the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia, the  Patriarch expresses his deepest condolences to all victims and wishes  a speedy recovery to the wounded. At the same time, the Patriarch  calls for an end to hostilities in all regions and for a just  resolution of the issues through political negotiations," the  statement of the Great House of Cilicia read.

At the same time, Aram I called on those responsible for the Armenian  dioceses to do their utmost to protect Armenian communities from  dangerous situations and to provide assistance to those in need,  while always maintaining contact with the Mother Monastery of  Antelias. "As always, the Catholicosate of the Great House of  Cilicia, under the leadership of the Patriarch, is ready to do  everything possible to support the work of the dioceses and meet  their needs. It should be noted that an extraordinary meeting of the  National Central Council will be held this evening under the  chairmanship of Aram I," the statement concluded.
