"We have launched an offensive campaign against Hezbollah. We are not only on the defensive; we now want to go on the offensive. We must prepare for many days of fighting," he said.
On the night of March 1-2, the IDF Spokesperson's Office reported sirens sounding due to shells fired from Lebanon and the interception of one of them. Several other shells fell in open areas, and no injuries or damage were reported, the IDF clarified.
Later, the Spokesperson's Office reported that the IDF had carried out "precision strikes against high-ranking Hezbollah terrorists in the Beirut area." "Furthermore, the IDF killed a Hezbollah leader in southern Lebanon," the report stated.
