"To the attention of Armenian citizens currently in the United Arab Emirates due to cancelled flights: The Armenian government is working to evacuate citizens by air to Armenia.
Citizens wishing to voluntarily travel to Armenia via Oman can fill out an application at the appropriate link.
The Armenian Embassy in the UAE will, to the extent possible, also provide assistance with transportation from the UAE to Muscat to arrange a flight. If a flight is arranged, priority will be given to women, children, and the elderly," the Armenian Foreign Ministry statement reads.
In another statement, the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that diplomatic missions and consular offices of the Republic of Armenia in the United Arab Emirates (along with Bahrain and Saudi Arabia), Kuwait (along with Jordan), Qatar, Oman, and Iraq are operating in a 24-hour emergency mode.
It noted that contact is being maintained with the relevant airlines (including FlyDubai, Air Arabia, and Qatar Airways) to obtain up-to-date information on the situation, ensure the presence of Armenian citizens on flights, clarify conditions, and carry out any necessary additional work.
In some cases, airlines are offering flight rescheduling options, and the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism has announced its readiness to cover the costs of all tourists' forced stays in Abu Dhabi. "It should be added that the embassy in the UAE is currently in operational contact with a group of 92 Armenian students studying in the UAE, providing the necessary instructions and advice.
Armenian embassies and consular sections in Iran and Israel also continue their operations. A large number of applications from Armenian citizens have not been registered. In the case of Iran, communication issues sometimes arise. The Armenian Embassy also maintains contact with relevant partners in other countries to assist with evacuation through the territory of the Republic of Armenia, if necessary.
Direct answers to questions of interest to Armenian citizens are provided via a hotline operated by the embassies and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The total number of Armenian citizens in these countries is verified and updated regularly," the Armenian Foreign Ministry stated.
The ministry reported that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hotline received approximately four dozen calls on February 28 and March 1 (as of 1:30 PM). Contrary to information circulating on some social media, not a single call went unanswered. The primary inquiries were about the resumption of flights or other options for evacuation or return to Armenia.
"Currently, there is no information about the presence of Armenian citizens among the victims." We call on citizens of the Republic of Armenia to follow official instructions and information disseminated by local and RA diplomatic missions and consular offices.
