ArmInfo. Iranian religious and political figure Alireza Arafi has been elected as a member of Iran's Interim Leadership Council ahead of the election of a new Supreme Leader, IRNA reports.

On February 28, Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed in a US-Israeli operation. Fars reported that Khamenei was killed at his workplace, his residence.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian called the assassination of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei a terrible crime and vowed to avenge it. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) vowed to launch a new, powerful attack "on enemy installations and targets."
