ArmInfo.. It is unacceptable for hundreds of thousands of Yerevan residents to be deprived of water for seven hours a day. Karapetyan, a Board member of the "Strong Armenia" party, told reporters on February 25.
According to him, from May 1 to September 15, Armenian citizens will face water shortages at night, which is the culmination of the government's flawed policies. The state, according to Karapetyan, must control three key infrastructure areas: water, gas, and electricity. In terms of water use, the country has reached a point where, in the 21st century, citizens will be deprived of water for seven hours. In the electricity sector, power outages have surged by 40 percent over the past four months. Overall, the energy sector is experiencing a complete collapse. Due to their flawed foreign policy, the country's authorities are also risking Armenia's gas supply, including by worsening relations with two neighbors, which poses a serious challenge to the state.
Karapetyan emphasized that water is not a luxury, but a basic necessity, and suggested that proper management could resolve this issue. Medical facilities should not be left without water. "The country has water resources, but lacks effective management," the politician emphasized.
