ArmInfo. At its February 26 meeting, the Armenian government plans to approve a three-month extension of the social support program for families of missing civilians.
As stated in the explanatory note to the decision, the government decree of December 3, 2020, approved measures and procedures for providing social assistance to the families of civilians missing as a result of military operations "initiated by the Republic of Azerbaijan in the direction of Karabakh (Nagorno- Karabakh Republic - ed.) on September 27, 2020". As part of the measures established by the Resolution, applications for financial assistance to the families of missing civilians (in the amount of 300,000 drams per month per person) were to be submitted electronically by December 23, 2025. However, there remain missing persons among the civilian population whose families require ongoing support.
To address these issues, it is proposed to adopt a draft law under which families of missing civilians will receive social assistance in the amount of 300,000 drams for an additional three months (January, February, and March 2026). Application deadline is March 20, 2026, inclusive.
