Samvel Karapetyan  ready to renounce his Russian and Cypriot  citizenship - Narek Karapetyan

ArmInfo. Samvel Karapetyan, head of the Strong Armenia party, renowned Russian businessman and philanthropist, and head of the Tashir Group, is  ready to renounce his Russian and Cypriot citizenship if elected  Prime Minister of Armenia, as stated by his nephew, Narek Karapetyan,  a member of the "Strong Armenia party", in an interview with  Azatutyun.

He emphasized that when the process leads to his election as Prime  Minister, Samvel Karapetyan will hold only Armenian citizenship.

When asked whether the renunciation process  has already started,  Narek Karapetyan noted that the party leader is currently under house  arrest, which imposes certain restrictions. "The process needs to  start early, as there are technical and bureaucratic issues between  the countries," he added.

When asked if Karapetyan would wait for  voter support before  renouncing his existing citizenships, Narek Karapetyan responded that  the process needs to start early so that everything can be completed  on time.  "The right time is when we introduce Samvel Karapetyan to  our society as the country's prime minister," he emphasized. Narek  Karapetyan  also noted that there is no alternative to societal  development: "We are moving toward this to secure the support of the  majority of the population."
