


ArmInfo.On the sidelines of the UN Human Rights Council session in Geneva, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk.
According to the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, the parties exchanged views on priorities in the field of human rights protection, the current challenges facing the international human rights system, and the main areas of cooperation.
Mirzoyan presented Armenia's approaches to the further institutionalization of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Reference was made to the continued g strengthening of peace, steps aimed at promoting an atmosphere of trust, as well as addressing the issues of conflict-affected populations and humanitarian concerns. The meeting emphasized the importance of active cooperation to continuously strengthen democratic resilience and public trust in human rights institutions. The importance of human rights topic within the framework of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, to be held in Armenia this year, was also highlighted
