
ArmInfo. Artur Martirosyan, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport (MESCS) of Armenia, held a meeting with Sylvia Schmidt, head of the regional office of the German Academic Exchange Program (DAAD). He emphasized Armenia's interest in strengthening its partnership with Germany, as one of the leading EU countries, particularly in science, research, and information technology, as reported by the press service of the MESCS of Armenia.
The Armenian official presented the priorities of Armenia's higher education sector, emphasizing the importance of internationalizing higher education and research, as well as the significance of joint activities to improve university rankings. In turn, Schmidt emphasized the importance of working together to enhance German studies in Armenia, which includes providing comprehensive German language instruction in schools and implementing master's and research programs.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the DAAD-funded program at the Agrarian University, as well as projects aimed at developing German studies in partnership with several universities within the Eastern Partnership.
Special attention was paid to expanding cooperation within the EU Erasmus+ program, which brings in experts from different areas. Scholarship opportunities, teacher training, and course formats were also addressed. Martirosyan also presented the official representative with details of the "Academic City" program and the cooperation framework planned with the German side.
