ArmInfo. An Armenian court has extended the detention of Karo Okumushyan, the driver of opposition MP Artur Sargsyan from the "Armenia" faction in the National Assembly, for another three months. He was arrested in connection with a case involving "seizure of power and terrorism."
During the court hearing on February 23, Sargsyan stated that his driver had not committed any crimes and was simply carrying out his job duties as a family driver. "Karo Okumushyan should be released, be with his family, and take care of them," the MP stated during the hearing.
In a separate decision, the court lifted the house arrest of Armen Aleksanyan, a blogger and supporter of the "Sacred Struggle" movement (he was cooking an omelet as a parody of the Armenian Prime Minister - ed.).
