ArmInfo. The RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports officially states that the information disseminated in recent days on various platforms, and the discussions surrounding it, regarding the alleged planned closure of 231 schools in the Republic of Armenia starting in September 2026, are untrue and constitute disinformation.
The ministry's statement emphasizes that state education policy is aimed at effectively developing general education, expanding access to education, and improving its quality, rather than limiting educational opportunities. Clear evidence of this is the large-scale school construction currently underway in the republic, resulting in the regular opening of new schools and kindergartens in various communities across the country.
"It is regrettable that the education sector is being exploited for selfish purposes to cause unfounded anxiety and misunderstanding among the public. We call on citizens and the professional community who are genuinely concerned about the development of the education sector to resist manipulation by forces pursuing various agendas and to rely exclusively on official and reliable sources. The Ministry will continue to operate openly and transparently, providing the public with complete, accurate, and reliable information about initiatives and programs implemented in the education sector," the Ministry of Education, Science, and Culture stated.
