ArmInfo. The authorities of Artsakh are unable to pay wage arrears to Artsakh residents because Armenia's authorities have frozen government accounts, as noted in a statement issued by the Artsakh Information Headquarters.
"Dear compatriots, in response to the repeatedly raised questions regarding unpaid wages, severance payments, and severance benefits, we inform you that due to the large-scale military operations launched by Azerbaijan on September 19-20, 2023, and the de-Armenization of Artsakh, the Republic of Armenia has frozen all bank accounts associated with the Republic of Artsakh.
As a result, currently, it is impossible to pay the unpaid wages, severance payments, and severance benefits of over 22,000 employees. This issue has been repeatedly brought to the attention of the Armenian government. However, as of now, no resolution has been reached.
According to a decree from the President of the Republic of Artsakh, as of October 1, 2023, severance payments and severance benefits for dismissed employees total over 5 billion Armenian drams, with unpaid wages for September 2023 amounting to over 550 million drams," the Artsakh Information Headquarters' statement reads.
