ArmInfo. In 115 days, everyone will see that "Strong Armenia" is not just a party name, but a serious promise we make to all citizens of Armenia and all Armenians, as stated by Samvel Karapetyan, the PM candidate of the "Strong Armenia party, a renowned businessman, philanthropist, and head of the Tashir Group, in a video message to his supporters.
He recalled that on June 4, 2025, just under a month after his arrest, he spoke to the Armenian people about an initiative that is now becoming a reality. "On that day, we made the decision together to unite and engage in political struggle for the bright future of our homeland. By arresting me and keeping me in custody, [a small group] hoped to silence me. They not only isolated me, but also the voice of Armenia, our people, and our citizens. However, they were mistaken once again. Now our voice is even louder. Together, we have become stronger than ever," Karapetyan noted. According to him, it is now clear that the political situation in Armenia has changed dramatically, and this small group no longer possess the power to regain its weakened position.
Karapetyan expressed confidence that the Armenian people are dissatisfied with the current authorities, and the majority of society is completely disillusioned by the failures in foreign and domestic policy and the social sphere. "The economic situation in Armenia can be summed up in one sentence: poverty and debt. Those responsible for bringing disaster and misfortune to the country are now advocating for peace. But peace without a strong state is capitulation. They are misleading the people of Armenia, by suggesting that a strong Armenia will lead to war. This is another lie to intimidate the public. We want peace-a strong and dignified peace. No country can negotiate a real peace by begging for it. We will strengthen our army and security by introducing new technologies and creating a modern defense program. Strong peace requires a strong, modern army. We are not going to deceive our compatriots for the sake of positions and bonuses. We cannot empty the state budget for personal gain; we must do the opposite," the "Strong Armenia" party candidate emphasized.
According to Karapetyan, the program he proposes will be the most realistic and effective, opening up broad prospects for creating a strong Armenia. He emphasized that his large team and himself are not seeking a slow economic recovery or partial improvement in the social situation. Their goal is to take clear and rapid steps to lead Armenia to rapid development and ensure visible prosperity for its people. "This prosperity means decent work and adequate wages. In the near future, we plan to present all of our programs, which will be unique to Armenia and will quickly address the key issue of improving citizens' living standards," the businessman said.
Karapetyan noted that their political force wants to make Armenia a place where people can live and work with dignity, rather than a "poor haven" that drives people to leave. "I'm often asked why I decided to enter politics in this situation. I was born in Armenia and know the problems and joys of life in both urban and rural areas. I cannot simply stand by as my homeland is being led toward disaster and destruction. I am a creative person; throughout my life, I have contributed to the creation of thousands of advancements- buildings, factories, jobs, hospitals, and schools in dozens of countries. My good name has given me the opportunity to establish numerous business connections around the world. Now my potential must serve Armenia and our people. Dear compatriots, partners, and like-minded people, only 115 days remain until a new beginning for Armenia. A new era will open, and our strong Armenia will become a reality," Karapetyan said.
He added that they would create an Armenia where the diaspora living abroad would feel at home again - in the safest and best place, and that what would be more important to them would not be donations from the diaspora, but a real emotional connection. "Furthermore, this will be an Armenia with a professional and reasonable policy, a state that will engage in dialogue with all its neighbors and cooperate with all superpowers. All our relations must be based on peaceful and professional solutions to the issues facing our country, rather than engagement in geopolitical intrigue. In 115 days, everyone will see that a "Strong Armenia" is not just a party name, but a promise to all citizens of Armenia and all Armenians. Tomorrow, we will turn this into reality. We face an obvious choice: weak or strong leadership, division or unity, continued concessions of sovereignty or its strengthening, humiliation or dignity, despair or faith. Building a strong Armenia is also about hope. Just realize this: the establishment of a new, peaceful, secure, and prosperous life will begin immediately after the elections, on June 8. With our extensive and dedicated team, we will not waste a single day in building a strong Armenia. Be confident - we will succeed on the path towards a Strong Armenia," Karapetyan concluded.
Recall, on February 12, Samvel Karapetyan, a businessman and leader of the "Strong Armenia" party, was unanimously elected as the candidate for Prime Minister. Parliamentary elections in Armenia are scheduled for June 7, 2026.
