


ArmInfo.Armenian authorities will strive to meet the required water release volumes from Lake Sevan, specifically 170 million cubic meters, as stated by Minister of Environment Hambardzum Matevosyan during a government session on February 11.
According to him, a working group has been formed under Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan to implement this task and is currently planning the next steps. The Minister emphasized that for the first time since 2017, there will be a 1 cm increase in Lake Sevan's water level in January 2026. The government is currently working on several projects aimed at constructing treatment facilities and new water supply systems. According to assessments made by Armenian experts and partners from the Asian Development Bank, the total cost of these projects is estimated to be 270 million euros.
