ArmInfo. The court has returned the lawsuits of two defrocked clergymen, Stepan Asatrayan (formerly Father Ter Aram, spiritual pastor of Hovhannavank) and Aramayis Tahmazyan (formerly Father Tadeh, spiritual pastor of Talin ), against the Mother See of Etchmiadzin. This information was reported on the judicial information portal Datalex.
Earlier, on February 5, the defrocked clergy filed a lawsuit demanding that Patriarchal Decree No. 1042 of His Holiness, Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, regarding their deposition be declared invalid and that they be reinstated in their previous positions. After reviewing the statement of claim and the attached documents, the court ruled that they should be returned, as the requirements established by the Civil Code regarding the form, content, and attached documents of the statement of claim were not met. The plaintiffs were given three days to correct the deficiencies in the statement of claim. The decision to return them was made by Judges Sima Abovyan and Pargev Melkonyan.
The plaintiffs may appeal the decision to the Civil Court of Appeals of the Republic of Armenia within seven days of receiving it.
