


ArmInfo. Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan received Markus Ritter, Head of the European Union Monitoring Mission in Armenia, on the occasion of the end of his term.
According to the presidential press service, Khachaturyan thanked Ritter for his consistent and effective work over the past three years, emphasizing that it deserves high praise not only from the Armenian leadership but also from the citizens. Further discussing the work of the EU civilian mission in Armenia, the President recalled that it was aimed at reducing tensions in border areas and ensuring a more peaceful and secure life for the people, which it successfully achieved.
In turn, Ritter noted that he was leaving Armenia with wonderful impressions and love. He emphasized that throughout his tenure, he had always felt the support and friendship of Armenian citizens, as well as from all levels of the country's leadership. During the meeting, the important role of the EU civilian mission during this difficult period for Armenia was highlighted in the context of efforts to establish peace in the region. The parties stressed the significance of a positive conclusion to the ongoing peace process in the region. At the end of the meeting, President Vahagn Khachaturyan awarded a Medal of Gratitude to Markus Ritter.
