ArmInfo. Integrity checking mechanisms fo individuals holding public office will be introduced in Armenia. The National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia is discussing amendments to the laws "On Public Service" and "On the Commission for the Prevention of Corruption" in the first reading at its plenary session on February 10.
As the RA Deputy Minister of Justice Gevorg Kocharyan informed, the initiative stipulates that the Corruption Prevention Commission (CPC) must conduct a review on the integrity of the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers, their advisors, as well as Deputy Ministers, within one month after submitting a declaration of assumption of office.
"The study will include an analysis of the declarations of assumption of office made by the aforementioned officials, as well as by their family members, in comparison with data from previous declarations made by the same persons, if any," the rapporteur emphasized and added that based on the results of the conducted integrity review, the CPC must provide an advisory conclusion on integrity risks. It should include possible risks from the perspective of the person's property status and private interests and proposals aimed at neutralizing them.
