ArmInfo. Alen Simonyan, the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, refused to answer whether he considers Russia a non-democratic state during a parliamentary briefing on February 10, calling the question "inappropriate."
The question was posed following Simonyan's discussion of his recent meetings in Moscow, when he stated that "what he said to them at the meetings, what he told journalists, and what was later reported in the Russian media were completely different."
"Here, 90% of the journalists are opposition journalists. There, they are state-run," he said, noting that the media in Armenia and Russia are incomparable. In response to his remarks, the question was posed: "Do you consider the Russian Federation undemocratic?"
