
ArmInfo. The Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia is demanding the confiscation of approximately $700,000 worth of real estate and movable property from opposition National Assembly member Ishkhan Saghatelyan in favor of the Republic of Armenia.
As reported by the press service of the oversight body, the Anti-Corruption Court has accepted the prosecutor's office's corresponding claim for review.
According to the claim, the following are subject to confiscation: five real estate properties, five vehicles, participations in three legal entities, 264,516,000 drams as the remainder of illegal funds, and 2,914,000 drams, the origin of which is not confirmed by the person's legal income, which is of illegal origin, was transferred to a bona fide purchaser, or cannot be identified and confiscated.
As a reminder, in 2008-2009, Saghatelyan - worked as a research fellow at the National Archives of Armenia, advisor to the Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly. In 2009-2012 - assistant to the Member of the National Assembly. 2016-2018 - advisor to the Minister of Nature Protection. From June to September 2018 he was the governor of Gegharkunik region, in 2019-2021 - director of Navasar LLC. Since 1999, a member of the ARF, 2002-2006 - chairman of the Nikol Aghbalyan Student Union, in 2006- 2007, then since 2016 - member of the Supreme Body of the ARF of Armenia. Since 2019, he is a representative of the Supreme Body of the ARF of Armenia. On June 20, 2021, he was elected as a member of the National Assembly from the national electoral list of the Hayastan (Armenia) bloc of parties. From August 6, 2021 to July 1, 2022, he was Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.
