


ArmInfo. The Anti-Corruption Court has accepted for review another case filed by the Prosecutor General's Office regarding the confiscation of illegally acquired property. This case concerns the seizure of property from Rubik Karapetovich Hakobyan, the former Consul General of the Republic of Armenia in St. Petersburg and former National Assembly member, and individuals associated with him.
According to the supervisory authority, the following are subject to confiscation in favor of the Republic of Armenia: five real estate properties, one property purchase right, and two vehicles.
Rubik Hakobyan served as the Consul General of the Republic of Armenia in St. Petersburg from 2000 to 2008. From 1994 to 1995, he headed the ARF parliamentary group. From 1995 to 1999, he was a member of the National Assembly. He was a member of the Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, and Youth of the National Assembly. He was also a member of the ARF faction. - Member of the National Assembly (proportional representation from the ARF). Member of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs of the National Assembly. Secretary of the ARF faction. On May 6, 2012, he was elected to the National Assembly by proportional representation from the Heritage Party.
In 2025, Hakobyan was charged with "public calls to seize power" and arrested. In August, Hakobyan's two-month arrest was lifted, and he was released from court. Hakobyan was placed on bail.
