ArmInfo. The Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) has launched a public campaign in anticipation of US Vice President J.D. Vance's upcoming regional visit.
The ANCA reports that Armenians in America are being asked to send a letter to Vance's office, specifically requesting that the American official meet with Armenian prisoners illegally held in Azerbaijan during his visit to Baku and publicly demand their immediate and unconditional release.
"While in Armenia, meet with recently released Armenian prisoners, their legal representatives, and the families of those still in custody.
Meet with representatives of Artsakh Armenians displaced in Armenia and publicly support the fundamental right of Artsakh Armenians to safely return to their homes.
Call on Azerbaijan to immediately and unconditionally withdraw its armed forces from the sovereign territories of Armenia.
Call on Azerbaijan to cease the desecration and destruction of centuries-old Armenian Christian cultural heritage and civilian property in Artsakh," the ANCA stated.
The diaspora organization believes that everyone's voice can make a difference.
It is worth noting that Vance is expected to visit Armenia on February 9. He will also visit Azerbaijan. The agenda for the talks is currently unknown.
