


ArmInfo. An unknown assailant attempted to shoot Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseyev of the Russian Defense Ministry in northwest Moscow. He has been hospitalized, according to Svetlana Petrenko, spokesperson for the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation (ICR).
A criminal case has been opened in connection with the incident under Part 3 of Article 30, Part 1 of Article 105 (attempted murder), and Part 1 of Article 222 (illegal trafficking of firearms), Petrenko told reporters on Friday.
According to her, on February 6, in a residential building located on Volokolamskoye Highway in Moscow, "an as-yet-unidentified individual fired several shots at a man and fled the scene."
"The victim has been hospitalized in a city hospital," Petrenko said.
She noted that investigators and forensic experts from the Moscow ICR are currently working at the scene, reviewing CCTV footage, and interviewing eyewitnesses.
Investigative actions and operational search measures are being conducted to identify the person or persons involved in the crime, said a spokesperson for the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
