ArmInfo. A new batch of documents in the case of notorious financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein calls into question the sincerity of Donald Trump's statements. According to archival records, the former president's claims of a complete severance of ties with Epstein as early as 2004 have proven false.
The US Department of Justice, a month behind the deadline set by Congress, released a colossal trove of data—more than 3 million pages of documents, over 180,000 photographs, and over 2,000 videos.
The main sensation was the number of references to Donald Trump in the case materials—his name appears over 3,000 times.
However, the most politically significant fact was the denial of the timeline of their communication. While Trump has repeatedly stated that he cut off all contact with Epstein in the mid-2000s (following the Mar-a-Lago incident), the newly released files indicate that they maintained contact until at least 2012.
This information could seriously damage the politician's reputation, as he previously distanced himself from Epstein, referring to him simply as "a guy from Palm Beach," with whom he allegedly had no contact for more than a decade before the financier's arrest.
