ArmInfo. Armenian customs officers prevented the import of 23.4 kg of marijuana into Armenia. This was reported by the RA State Revenue Committee.
The contraband cargo was discovered at the Agarak border crossing, where a truck driven by Iranian citizen A.P. was detained. A search revealed 34 transparent plastic bags containing marijuana among the packages located on the truck's trailer's iron supports. The bags weighed approximately 23.4 kg. The Iranian citizen was transferred to the Investigative Committee, where he was detained as part of the criminal case. Subsequently, based on a court ruling, a decision was made to arrest him as a preventive measure.
As a result of the investigative actions, the possible location of the drug delivery was established. As part of a "controlled delivery and purchase" operation, two citizens of the Republic of Armenia, A.N. and Z.N., were discovered on the road from Yerevan to Masis and handed over to the Investigative Committee. Both were detained, and criminal cases have been opened against them under Articles 393 and 399 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.
