ArmInfo.Armenia remains a member of the CSTO with all rights and obligations. This was stated in the Russian Foreign Ministry's response to media questions received at the press conference of Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on the results of Russian diplomatic activities in 2025.
"Armenia remains a member of the CSTO with all rights and obligations. We support Yerevan's full participation in the work of the Organization, as it is an integral element of the country's security," the Russian Foreign Ministry's response stated. As a reminder, Armenia has been boycotting CSTO events since the end of 2022. In February 2024, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that Armenia had essentially frozen its participation in the CSTO, as the Organization had failed to fulfill its obligations to Armenia, which could not go without consequences. And already on September 18, 2024, at the second World Armenian Summit, Pashinyan declared that the CSTO poses threats to Armenia's security, its continued existence, sovereignty, and statehood.
