He was detained on the basis of direct, substantiated suspicion of drug smuggling. Investigators conducted extensive operational and investigative activities. The identities of possible individuals organizing the import of drugs into the Republic of Armenia and their subsequent sale within the country were established. As part of the "Controlled Delivery and Purchase" operation, two more citizens were detained at an address in Yerevan on the basis of direct, substantiated suspicion of drug smuggling and sale, as part of criminal proceedings initiated under Articles 393 and 399 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. Searches were conducted at the place of residence.
