Some roads closed in Armenia, Upper Lars checkpoint open

ArmInfo.The Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia reports that, as of the morning of January 29, roads in Armenia are mostly passable.

The Service notes that roads leading from the Amberd high-mountain  meteorological station in the Aragatsotn region to the Amberd  Fortress and Lake Kari are closed. The Vardenyats Pass is difficult  to pass for vehicles with trailers. Fog is observed on roads in the  Ashtarak region.

Snow is falling in Yeghegnadzor, Vayk, Sisian, and Kapan.

According to information received from the Department of Emergency  Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the  North Ossetian Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of  Russia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open to all types of vehicles.
