ArmInfo. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Intelligence Directorate said it had uncovered a terrorist plot orchestrated by intelligence agencies from 10 foreign countries to sow chaos and threaten Iran's identity.
In a statement released Monday, the IRGC claimed that the terrorist attacks in recent weeks were part of a larger US-Israeli plot to undermine Iran's geographic integrity and national identity.
"The enemy command center was established immediately after the 12-Day War with the participation of 10 hostile intelligence agencies," the statement said.
The IRGC Intelligence Directorate stated that the plan was aimed at fomenting internal unrest, combined with foreign interference, to create an existential threat to the Islamic Republic.
The statement noted that the plan was thwarted thanks to the vigilance of Iranian security forces and the cooperation of citizens.
According to the statement, the IRGC Intelligence Organization arrested 735 individuals linked to anti-security networks, interrogated 11,000 people involved, confiscated 743 unauthorized firearms, and identified 46 individuals linked to foreign services.
It stated that foreign political figures and security officials directly supported the enemy's actions, including the spread of violence and terrorist exploitation of public gatherings, the use of social media to incite violence, and the recruitment of organized gangs and criminals in a plot to increase the number of casualties among both the population and security forces.
The statement added that the IRGC Intelligence Unit seeks to infiltrate the communications networks of those involved in the unrest, dominate cross-border terrorist networks, use disinformation to counter-infiltrate, and continue to identify and decisively counter the networks that fueled the unrest.
