ArmInfo.Armenia's top political leadership, visiting the Yerablur military cemetery complex, limited themselves to visiting the central monument, where they laid flowers on the occasion of Remembrance Day for all servicemen who fell during all conflicts, ignoring the "Call of Artsakh" monument.
In a conversation with journalists, RA Deputy Defense Minister Arman Sargsyan noted that the state delegation arrived at the complex to mark Remembrance Day for those who fell for the Motherland. Sargsyan explained that it was impossible to approach all the monuments, and the central memorial symbolizes the entire pantheon. The Deputy Minister noted that there is a monument at Yerablur that embodies the overall meaning of the complex. It was before this monument that they laid flowers and bowed their heads.
Responding to journalists' questions about why January 27 was chosen as Remembrance Day, rather than September 27, the date when Azerbaijan's aggression against Artsakh began, Arman Sargsyan emphasized that various dates were discussed during parliamentary debates. Ultimately, after lengthy discussions, it was decided to establish January 27 as the day of remembrance, a day that is not tied to the anniversary of any specific war. "The established remembrance day is of a national nature and is not associated with any specific military conflict," the deputy minister stated.
