


ArmInfo. Former Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia Vardan Harutyunyan, who was under house arrest, has been released under administrative supervision after posting bail of 300 million drams and a travel restriction. This was reported by the newspaper "Zhogovurd."
Vardan Harutyunyan was arrested on August 8, 2025, and in October, his arrest was extended by one month. On November 7, it was reported that he had been transferred from prison to his home and was under house arrest. He has now been released from house arrest.
Vardan Harutyunyan is accused of illegal participation in business activities and money laundering. However, as the newspaper points out, the investigation into the circumstances underlying the charges was conducted seven years ago and was closed. Specifically, the criminal case concerns the company "Norfolk Consulting," an investigation into which began in 2018 and was subsequently closed.
Vardan Harutyunyan's defense team stated that a complaint to the ECHR regarding the clearly disproportionate and unlawful use of detention will be filed in the coming days.
