ArmInfo. Germany will not participate in the "Peace Council" in the form proposed by Trump. An internal German Foreign Ministry document states that such a "global international peace organization" is a "counter-project" competing with the UN, and that its chairman (Trump) would personally receive "comprehensive decision-making powers."
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said she cannot currently join Trump's Peace Council, as she needs more time to study the move.
Britain, Sweden, Norway, and France previously withdrew from the Peace Council.
To date, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Morocco, Turkey, Pakistan, Albania, Argentina, Bahrain, partially recognized Kosovo, Paraguay, Indonesia, Azerbaijan, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, Israel, and Hungary have joined Trump's Peace Council.
The largest non-Western countries invited to the Council—China, India, and Brazil—have not yet given their express consent.
Thus, of the 58 countries invited to participate in the Council, only 21 have so far agreed.
