ArmInfo. President Vladimir Putin stated that Russia is prepared to contribute $1 billion to Donald Trump's Peace Council to secure its permanent membership, but suggested using frozen Russian assets in the United States.
"Even now, even before our participation in the Peace Council and its work are resolved, given Russia's special relationship with the Palestinian people, I believe we could contribute $1 billion to the Peace Council from Russian assets frozen under the previous US administration," Putin stated during a meeting of the Russian Security Council.
According to Putin, Moscow and Washington are discussing using the remaining frozen Russian funds in the US to rebuild Russian-occupied territories damaged during the war in Ukraine.
"The remaining funds from our frozen assets in the US could also be used to rebuild territories damaged during the fighting after a peace treaty is concluded between Russia and Ukraine. We are also discussing this possibility with representatives of the US administration," he said.
